From all the reports read, it looks like COVID-19 is still on the decline. Are we out of the woods yet? Absolutely not. There are many people out there that have not had access to the vaccine yet and therefore we cannot fully let our guards down.
However upon the downfall of one, comes the uprising of a more visible but let frightening plague. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we are talking about the upcoming release of the cicadas.
Now the best part about this invasion of critters is that they cannot breed inside. They actually lay their eggs in living twigs.
Here's what Prevention.com has to say about the subject:
If a cicada happens to meander into your place, she recommends scooping it up into a container and escorting it back outside. “You may want to avoid handling them with your bare hands,” she says. “Though they will not sting or bite, they do possess piercing-sucking mouthparts for drinking plant juices and could accidentally pierce human skin if handled.” They can also try to fly away when you handle them, so have a lid handy.
So luckily, these little critters won't be entering your homes or offices. But, they still give me the Heebie Jeebies. So if you feel the need to have a little extra cleaning done in your office or entry way just to keep the critters at bay, reach out.
